Designed with King Island’s ever-changing weather in mind, the custom-built tiny house ensures comfort throughout the seasons. Fully insulated and double glazed, it offers a cozy haven during cooler months while remaining cool during warmer times. Snuggle up by the indoor wood-burning fireplace or take advantage of the split system air conditioner and heat pump for personalised climate control. While Red Rock Hut encourages you to disconnect and unwind, we understand the importance of staying connected. That’s why we provide fast Starlink internet access, allowing you to be as connected or disconnected from the world as you like.

Immerse yourself in the tranquil ambiance as you relax with in the west-facing outdoor deck hammock, soaking in stunning sunset views and the company of curious wallabies roaming nearby. On clear evenings, the sounds of the crashing waves sets the perfect backdrop for stargazing while enjoying a glass of wine by the fire pit. The Hut features a cedar wood-fired hot tub which comfortably seats 2-4 people and a cedar wood barrel sauna with panoramic viewing dome making it the ultimate place of relaxation.

Red Rock Hut is situated on 32 acres of ocean-front property on the west coast of King Island and guests can enjoy private direct access to the beach with diving and snorkelling spots (southern rock lobsters and black and greenlip abalone are found here – a Tasmanian Recreational licence is required for those who wish to take on-shore).

We believe in conservation and sustainable tourism and the Red Rock Hut’s designs and practices are eco-friendly and sustainable. The tiny house concept was chosen as the perfect solution to minimise the impact on the land and promote eco-friendly and sustainable tourism practices on King Island. Red Rock Hut is 100% off-grid and has zero reliance on mains infrastructure; the Hut generates its own power from nearby solar panels.

Red Rock Hut offers a true sense of seclusion and tranquility, allowing you to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Yet, it remains easily accessible, with short flights from Melbourne or mainland Tasmania, you will feel a world away and have the ultimate sense of seclusion in an eco-friendly tiny house with breathtaking views across the Southern Ocean.
