Minutes from Cape Wickham and Ocean Dunes, Yambacoona House has plenty of room for all your equipment, and space to practice your swing. Hungry from a day on the course? Our catering partners will chef to your delight for a feast in our dining room, with drinks concocted in the butler’s pantry.

• Beaches

The best beaches of King Island are at your doorstep, with fishing at Phoques Bay, swimming at Yellow Rock Beach, Quarantine Bay, and Disappointment Bay with the world-famous Martha Lavina Beach surf break all in the north of King Island.

• Wildlife

Yambacoona is a bird watchers paradise, with nearby Bob’s lagoon full of water birds from swans, ducks, cootes and teeming with other bird life. At Yambacoona House, you will regularly see Sea Eagles, Hawkes and smaller birds of prey, with galahs, jays, and honey eaters and fairy wrens’ regular guests. Yambacoona House has its own family of wallabies and possums who make their presence known along with the occasional echidna.

Kintyre

“Kintyre” is a fabulously private though easily accessible farm stay located at Loorana about 10 minutes north of the airport, near midway between Currie and Cape Wickham. Providing 3 bedrooms (2 queen rooms and 2 singles in the third) and one bathroom, the home is set on a working farm complete with chooks and cattle.
