Description:
Arriving at Yambacoona House is an experience in itself. Sweep through the countryside up the North Road and up Yambacoona Road. Navigate the wildlife as you glimpse the house in the distance. Navigate round the hedge to the front of Yambacoona House and the grand entrance. Here is our home away from the world. Welcome to Yambacoona House.
Built in 1902, this large federation house sits on 17 acres of land, with panoramic views across Yambacoona and to the hills. This is a unique King Island property that will make you feel a world away from your world. Surrounded by wildlife, earth, wind and fire. Yambacoona House is the legacy of cattle kings. Built buy the original cattle baron of the north, Francis Stephenson, and for a while owned by the ultimate Australian cattle lord, Sir Sydney Kidman, the great grandfather of Nicole Kidman.
Standing at the norther end, 15 minutes from Cape Wickham, Yambacoona House is the reminder of a King Island and Australia that has gone. Full of the histories of local people, and the stories of the past, this house has been brought back from the brink to be a place for people to be with people.
Designed to host 2 families or 8 people in comfort, you will find ample room for adults and the kids to have space. The grounds at Yambacoona House are a haven for wildlife, from wallabies to echidnas – you’ll find something always happening in this world away from the world.
