Perspectives 2017
Portside Gallery will be presenting a wonderfully eclectic exhibition of work by local artists opening on Thursday 30th November at 7.00 PM. The exhibition will be opened by Nicholas Cooper who is a long time art-aficionado and a notable supporter of local artists.
The exhibiting artists include Dianne Blake, Caroline Kininmoth, Marilyn Chapman, Andrew Blake, Sharelle Hassing and Henrietta Walker. Accordingly, the exhibition will feature a wide range of work spanning ceramics to sculpture and jewellery to painting.
These exhibitions are always well attended by those familiar with gallery owners Ken and Marilyn Chapman’s generous hospitality and warm welcome, not to mention the incredible finger food.
Sharelle Hassing’s exceptionally beautiful and sophisticated ceramics sold extremely well at the recent Christmas Night Market on King Island and a number of other items are expected to prove popular as all of the exhibiting artists are well established and sought after.
Andrew Blake recently exhibited a number of his sculptures at the Annandale Galleries in Sydney. King Islanders will be visiting the Portside Gallery hoping to enjoy his beautifully exotic but somehow simultaneously familiar work.
Portside Gallery is open on Sunday and Monday from 9.00 AM to 4.00 PM. The gallery café also offers a variety of beverages and light, locally made refreshments.
