All prices include GST and insurance, please note that a 10% booking commission from King Island Tourism has also been added.
We hire to drivers from ages 18 to 85, please contact us to discuss your insurance options if you are over 75 or under 21.
Cancellation Policy
Please note that all prices on this site are indicative only and a booking fee of 10% is applied to all bookings made through King Island Tourism. Contact us directly or make an instant booking on our website for our base rates (Compact AWDs from $88 per day).
As our service is contactless (we don't meet you in person upon arrival) you need to sign the hire agreement, send us a photo of your drivers license and your airline ticket to our contact number or email so that we can verify your driver details at least 24 hours prior to your arrival. If you do not do so we reserve the right to cancel your booking and charge you for the associated costs unless we are able to hire out the car for the equivalent term and rate. We will send the hire agreement to your provided email.
The same applies for cancellation with less than 24 hours notice and 'no shows'.
Bookings: If you are a mature age driver (over 75) or younger age driver (18 to 20) please contact us to discuss your hire options. If you are an international license holder ensure that you understand the rules and regulations for driving in Australia and that you have an approved English translation of your license if not in English.
Traveling with infants and children: We don't yet offer infant or child seats for hire at this time, you need to bring your own as there are no child equipment hire companies. Enquire with your airline to see if you can bring yours as free checked baggage.
If you need to change your booking let us know no later than 24 hours prior to Start of Hire, and to extend your current hire period contact us at least 24 hours prior to End of Hire.
Cancellation: A cancellation fee equivalent to one day's hire will be charged for cancellation with notice no later than 48 hrs and the remaining balance will be refunded.
PLEASE NOTE that your hire will NOT be fully confirmed until hire agreement is signed, drivers license is validated and payment is made. Hire agreement will be emailed to you after your booking is made through this site, please sign and email to islandcarhire@hollnet.com.au (all authorized drivers must sign.)
