Disappointment Bay

Parks & Wildlife, together with local contractors and the King Island Council  have been working hard to upgrade the facilities at Disappointment Bay. The new road, built just a few years ago, has brought about a huge increase in visitors to this stunning beach located just off Cape Wickham Road on the way to Cape Wickham lighthouse, the tallest in Australia.

There is a new walkway, improved parking facilities and a shelter which should all combine to make this beautiful spot even more accessible. But don’t worry about crowds, you’ll still be lucky to see anyone else along the length of this beach which is ideal for swimming, walking, learning to surf or just kicking back to relaxing and enjoy the view.
