King Island Gallery shows contemporary work across a range of mediums, most of it shaped by island life. Run by local artists, enthusiasts and volunteer guides, it’s built for the community as much as for visitors passing through.
Workshops, exhibitions and arts events run throughout the year, with visiting artists often working alongside locals.
Events calendar
King Island keeps its own calendar, and not all of it is created with visitors in mind. Alongside the markets and exhibitions you’d expect, a few dates on the list are just how the island rolls, season by season, and locals plan their year around them. Check what’s on before you book, then hold your plans loosely once you land. The island tends to rearrange things anyway.
